This unique brew was developed in crafty collaboration with our friends at Oldfield Cellars ...the 'Ferrymans' Peat Smoked Rye Ale is a complex, beer with a tantalising combination of peat-smoked malts and rye.
Deep copper in colour and crowned with a white aromatic head, the appearance in the glass and initial aroma hints at the sultry personality of the Ferrymans which we named in honour of local Hawkesbury River pioneer - George Peat. The rye provides a spicy flavour base which dances on the palate with the subtle citrus notes of the old school American hops. Behind this combination, the smokiness of the peat, while not overpowering, adds further taste dimension to the brew. While the Ferrymans may pose a challenge to those who are comfortable with convention, the flavour combinations are subtle and the secret is in the balance and coherence - offering, we hope, some pleasure to those who are keen to explore new ground. As with all Block 'n Tackle brews, we've used only the highest quality ingredients to develop the full flavoured taste.
